8th through 12th graders are invited to join RTSY, or Rodeph Torah Senior Youth. RTSY members form lifelong bonds through social events, community service, shul-ins (overnights at the temple), leading a Shabbat service each spring, planning and operating the annual TRT Purim Carnival, and activities with national Reform youth movement, NFTY (National Federation of Temple Youth).
Want to ensure that you are kept up to date on all happenings with RTSY? Sign up to be a member! It is only $36 for TRT members and $54 for non-TRT members and you can sign up here .
A new youth progams initiative has been put into place this year with membership. Youths MUST become a member of their youth group when they attend their second event of the year.

Register to join RTSY’s team, make a donation for the team as your “cost fee” and then feel free to ask family and friends to support your walk by donating to RTSY too. Register for the walk here. Teens UNDER 18 MUST fill out the waiver. Please try to work out carpools to make transportation easier for you. We will be meeting at the ALS Volunteer Tents with green balloons at 8am. If teens are driving, please refer to the TRT Youth Driving Policy, attached to this email. This event can be used for Community Service hours.
Waiver for Under 18 teens to complete **REQUIRED**
NFTY-GER– (8-12th graders) NFTY-GER Gala is May 20th at 4pm. We will start the evening at HUC-JIR in NYC and then move to a dinner cruise off Pier 83 in NYC. NFTY-GER is providing LIMITED-SPACE transportation from a bus in Temple Sharey Tefilo Israel in South Orange. Transportation cost $18 in addition to the $99 cost of the event. If you plan to take the bus, I suggest carpooling with other RTSY families. NFTY will provide transportation to get from HUC to Pier 83.
FYI – If a teen does not take the NFTY-GER bus TO HUC, they cannot take it home from the dinner cruise. If the teens want to take public transportation to get to HUC, they would be on their own to get home from Pier 83 as well. Registration for NFTY-GER Gala is closed.
If, by chance, you need financial assistance attending this event please note that on the NFTY-GER website is information about scholarship. If you need scholarship from GER, please apply for it before Early bird registration closes .
For more information, please visit the NFTY-GER website or Facebook page.
Volunteer to aide at Jr RTSY (grades 5-7) and Chaverim (grades 2-4) – Please look to sign up next year! Teens are responsible for the dates that they volunteer for. Volunteers for Chaverim can be in 8-12th grade.
It has all of the Chaverim (grades 2-4), Jr RTSY (grades 5-7), RTSY (Grades 8-12), and regional NFTY-GER (grades 9-12 with 8th grade being invited at the end of the year) events. Dates/events for are subject to change.
