8th through 12th graders are invited to join RTSY, or Rodeph Torah Senior Youth. RTSY members form lifelong bonds through social events, community service, shul-ins (overnights at the temple), leading a Shabbat service each spring, planning and operating the annual TRT Purim Carnival, and activities with national Reform youth movement, NFTY (National Federation of Temple Youth).

    A new youth progams initiative has been put into place this year with membership. Youths MUST become a member of their youth group when they attend their second event of the year.

RTSY Rock Shabbat Service (April 28th @ 8pm) & "Once Upon a RTSY Shul-in" - Friday, April 28th - 29th 6pm-8am. We will serve dinner before services. This guarantees to be a night of ruach and fun! Register for the event hereEARLY BIRD PRICING: $15 for RTSY members/$20 for non-paid RTSY/NFTY teens until THURSDAY, April 20th. REGULAR PRICING: $20 for RTSY members/$25 for non-paid RTSY/NFTY teens until TUESDAY, April 25th. Registration CLOSES Tuesday, April 25th.  That helps to ensure that we have enough supplies, food, etc for the night. You can pay by cash or check (made out to RTSY). Teens should bring a pjs, sleeping bag, and whatever else they may need for the night. Please review the TRT Youth Driving Policy (above) as it pertains to overnight events.

 

RTSY ELECTIONS - Are you interested in running for RTSY Board? Come to the RTSY Election Information Session on Tuesday, May 9th from 6:30-8:00pm.  While this is not mandatory, it is highly suggested that you attend. We will be going over each position and what they entail in detail.
   RTSY Elections will be held Tuesday, May 23rd from 6:30-9:00pm. If you are thinking about running, please save the date now! You must be present to vote at elections.
    Election packets and application will be sent out after the information session.


NFTY-GER- (8-12th graders) NFTY-GER Spring Kallah is April 21-23rd at URJ Kutz Camp in Warwick, NY. There will be a bus from TRT. Early bird registration cost $255 and ends on March 1st , regular registration is $280 until March 29th. This is a very special event because 8th graders are invited into the NFTY-GER community as we also wish our seniors good luck in the future.
    If, by chance, you need financial assistance attending this event please note that on the NFTY-GER website is information about scholarship. If you need scholarship from GER, please apply for it before Early bird registration closes.

Volunteer to aide at Jr RTSY (grades 5-7) and Chaverim (grades 2-4) - Please sign up to volunteer here. Teens are responsible for the dates that they volunteer for. If they are unable to help at an event already selected, they need to reach out to the advisor of the youth group.  To volunteer at Jr RTSY, teens need to be in 9th-12th grade. Volunteers for Chaverim can be in 8-12th grade.

Youth Group Events 16 17     It has all of the Chaverim (grades 2-4), Jr RTSY (grades 5-7), RTSY (Grades 8-12), and regional NFTY-GER (grades 9-12 with 8th grade being invited at the end of the year) events. Dates/events for are subject to change.

 

       RTSY also has this wonderful opportunity to be apart of NFTY-GER (North American Federation of Temple Youth -Garden Empire Region).  Ther e are a variety of NFTY-GER events throughout the year, as listed on the program calendar above.   Scholarships may be available through the NFTY-GER Scholarship Fund. Should you need any assistance, please apply through NFTY-GER during EARLY BIRD registration for each event that you may need help with.

Need-based subsidies may be available from the temple and the Jewish Federation.
