Religious School

David Gronlund-Jacob has been in Jewish education for over 20 years as a teacher, mentor, and school principal. David is a graduate of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City and was a fellow at the Leadership Institute of Congregational Educators. He has served on the board of the Association of Reform Jewish Educators and has mentored several Jewish Educators. Prior to becoming the Educator at Temple Rodeph he was the Educator in Westfield and Flanders NJ. During the summer he is the Tikkun Olam Coordinator at Berkshire Hills Eisenberg Camp in Copake, NY. He enjoys bringing his formal Hebrew School training to camp and his camp experiences to Temple Rodeph Torah.

In grades kindergarten through 7 our program is developed as an age appropriate curriculum to teach about Jewish holiday, history, rituals, and traditions. This is all done with hands on projects and cooperative learning. The goal of our Hebrew program is to build a proficiency in reading and understand of our prayer and prayer book. Our emphasis is on building Jewish values, Jewish bonds, and a commitment to a Jewish life.
